The root of Lotus

I have been operating a store on Zazzle for about 8 or 9 months now. Just loading my artworks onto the large amount of products has been REALLY time consuming. And when I just  mass created and spent over an hour customizing each of the product, it's frustrating to be hit with with a system problem and all my effort and time wasted...like it just happened. :(

I wasn't exactly looking for another P.O.D (print on demand) site for my artworks (just yet), but the international postage for zazzle's products could be too high for some of my customers who lived outside of the United States. So I went through all the P.O.D sites that I had joined but had not been active on to check out the shipping rates. I loaded two artwork onto Society6 and really appreciate how easy and considerable less time consuming comparing to Zazzle the site is. Most important of all...lol...it doesn't require you to have a minimum earning before they pay you. It doesn't allow much customizing which doesn't necessary translate to be a bad thing. I feel like I can put my signature on the artwork on Society6 because it's entirely my art that people's buying. Of course I could always lock my work over at Zazzle too but customizing is a big deal over there.

Anyway, the first entirely new artwork that I posted on Society6 happens to be a cross-section of the root of the lotus plant. Love how it turned out. The colors just cut through the melancholy I have been feeling all month long. :)
I uploaded to Zazzle after too.

My little Newton.

Karma

So I finished the Karma artwork over the weekend. Sooner than I had thought. First time I added shadows on any artwork made for Zazzle . When I first joined Zazzle I had only designing t-shirts on my mind and I was a little concerned on how the shadows might show on the shirts especially on colored ones. So I go ahead  without the shadows to keep things simple. Then I discovered other products that could use a little bit more details and perhaps a background to make it looked more polished, expensive and complete. Do I make any sense?

I really love how this little Isaac or little Newton turned out. :)

Some years back I'd posted on my fb statues :
For every action there is an equal and opposite reaction. I call that Karma.
I remembered this entry few months ago and decided to make some kind of typography of the text. Supposed to be simple. Supposed to be a simple outline of Newton's head and his curls. But ... somehow it developed into this. lol..

karma
This one I was fighting with the curls. Deciding how to depict them. Not wanting them to be too realistic. I loaded this onto fb to show to a friend who had some tough time with some mean people. lol...

This is the final sketch I used with illustrator.
And here's the page where you can see the artwork on the products. ---> LINK

And below are a iphone6 plus case &  t-shirts I have it on.

Re-visiting the symbol of wealth and properity... :p

The fish I had designed way back the beginning of 2015 (or end of 2014) for the Chinese new year when I first opened a store with Zazzle. Fish, for the Chinese,  is a symbol of wealth and prosperity. Here's a link to the earlier post if you are interested. Link

Here I have put in water bubbles for my pretty goldfish. I have put in bubbles. Sounded so simple and I had thought it would be . hahaha... the fact was I spent the whole of the last evening (before I knew it) trying to get the bubbles in just the right positions in just the right sizes. I worked with illustrator first because it was easier to move the bubbles around and then I moved to work on zazzle itself because I wanted to see how it looked directly on the products. Ended up piling layers of bubble of different sizes on the customize page...just like with "The moon does it all the time". LOVE the result! <3

I ditched my original plan to put in Japanese waves because I believe the simple bubbles background will bring out the beauty of the Goldfish more. Okay I lied. I had forgotten about the Japanese waves until I re-read my earlier post moments ago. LOL.  What do you think? Really. What do you think of the bubbles? :)

Oh is it gold fish or goldfish by the way? :p

Karma and Newton's 3rd law

Straight from the oven. Had just worked on the light color t-shirt with black lettering. Probably will create some black or dark color t-shirts with white lettering later :)

The logic of the heart is absurd!

My karma artwork is almost finished. And I had a little fun with a "body part" of it. hehe...
Bet you can't read what's written on the right.

The moon does it all the time - 2

Having a procrastination episode. Supposed to be working on the Karma artwork for my "AmayeZeen" store. The photos of the sketches (my scanner had died from exhaustion so I am using my camera) already uploaded and waiting for me to work on since last evening.  Instead I played with the Moon artwork a little and tadah...I think I love this version the best...so far! hehehe ...Okay...now back to the Karma artwork...:(

The Moon does it all the time - 1 :)

Last evening I was looking through my travel photos and remembering the waves once again. I was at the famous Pandai Cenang beach of Langkawi. Though I ended up not particularly liking Langkawi itself, I love some of the the photos I took. lol..
Anyway, I wanted to have a quote to go with one of my beach photos and found this.
Don't worry if you are making waves simply by being yourself. The moon does it all the time.      ~Scott Stabile~
And then I wanted a moon to go with the quote but didn't have the patient to find a photo over the internet that's free for commercial use. So I made one with photoshop using photo of some kind of texture. Love the result. I guess I have a thing for purple. hahaha...

Ji Xiang (Auspicious) Design

I went through my blog stats and found that I got a good number of  hits on my Year of the sheep (Ladies Tshirt) and Year of the sheep (Men Tshirt) entries. I remember it was quite close to the Chinese new year when I worked on this design. In the end I didn't have it on all the products because I was busy with the cleaning (well, sort of), and working on my travelling plan. Perhaps it's time to tweak the design a little like removing the words on the bottom, though interested buyers can always remove it themselve by hitting the customize button. Or removing the sheep (though a sheep will always be a sheep on the chinese character in any year :p) It's really a design that's not just for the year of the sheep. It's an auspicious word.

Anyway, Zazzle has changed the models since and I've just changed the models showing off the design because I thought they do the job better than the one zazzle replaced them with. And this is the page with the design on all the products I had the design on. :)

I DON'T really intend to live forever. Seriously!! :p

I am a little depressed.
Perhaps an understatement. lol..I described it as black mood to a friend who wanted to go out yesterday.
Perhaps it has to do with cutting coffee from my diet for the past week. I went from 3 cups a day to none. Drastic huh? But I still have my caffeine fix...from tea.  Not the same thing probably. :p

Anyway, I opened two more stores with Zazzle. Named it AcardZeen (for cards) and AcrazInn (for my crazy designs). I realized that with my first store, things are moving too slow. Everything has to be perfect before I could bring myself to post it for sale. With the two new stores I intend to have some fun and stop being so serious, and less T-shirt focus.

Something I did today while sitting in the library trying to fight off my black mood.

Be you!

Be you!
Being me for me means to stop minding what will the others think of what I am going to do, will be doing or thinking of doing. Or what I wear, how I wear and the choices that I make and etc etc and etc.
Basically to dance like nobody's watching, sing like nobody's listening when there's somebody watching and listening. You get what I mean?
We shouldn't really make choices/decisions, doing or not doing things base on the opinions or likes or dislikes of other people. That's not to say forgoing basic courtesy and the other rules and laws that are necessary to living in harmony with the rest of the human race sharing planet earth. I know it's a balancing act of some sort but craving or wanting the approval of others which is not at all in your control is madness. After all, what the others think is really none of our business. Especially of strangers'.
